Laura used to co-host the afternoon show on KTRS Radio alongside Guy Phillips but has since had to put an end to that.General Manager and Vice President Mike Murphy quoted “Laura’s charming personality and quick wit will make her a perfect fit to sit alongside co-hosts Kent Ehrhardt and Matt Chambers.” Laura has received much praise for her work from the team at KMOV.Hettiger joked on the network’s website that she now “wakes up before she used to go to bed.” She had been filling in temporarily for a few months, but the team decided to make her a permanent Co-Host of Great Day St Louis as well as a Traffic Anchor for KMOV’s News 4 This Morning. After working some time in Charleston, South Carolina, at the NBC affiliate, Laura moved back permanently to KMOV.She did a great job during her initial stint at KMOV – when she covered the unrest in Ferguson, she was awarded the NATAS Emmy Award for General Assignment Reporting in 2015. Hettiger first began working at KMOV in 2012, acting as a General Assignment Reporter for the News 4 This Morning show.She occasionally anchored the sports segments and reported live three times a week. From 2011 to 2012, she worked in Charleston, South Carolina, as a multimedia journalist at WCBD-TV Channel 2.From 2008 to 2011, Laura was the co-owner and choreographer of Cheer Unlimited, a private cheerleading company in Illinois.While studying for her Master’s degree, Laura was a teaching assistant for the ‘Introduction to Journalism’ course at the University of Illinois.She was also a broadcast intern for Big Ten Network and WICD TV. Laura was an editorial intern for the US Weekly Magazine and American Cheerleader Magazine.Through Mark, she will be the stepmother of his son, Henry Allen. She was originally due to be married on New Year’s Eve 2020, but in August 2020, she made the decision to postpone the wedding for a year due to the COVID19 pandemic. ![]()
